you are here: home > Noise Exemptions Noise Exemptions for 9th Line and Highway 7August 14, 2009 Work Period: Monday August 17th, Tuesday August 18 The granting of the noise exemption at this intersection will permit the sewer crossing works to be completed at off peak traffic times which will allow the works to be completed in a more timely fashion with less traffic interruption. The exemptions for the evenings of Monday August 17th, Tuesday August 18 and completing the works the morning of Wednesday August 19th are in keeping with the previous noise exemption granted to D. Crupi and Sons Paving for the Hwy 7 paving operations. We propose that the Con Drain and the Region of York be granted exemptions to the Town’s Noise Control By-law 2003-137 to facilitate the Hwy 7/9th Line sewer crossing installation works and to reduce traffic impact as follows: · Exemption for the period August 17 to August 19, 2009 from 1900 hours to 0700 hours · Restricting construction activities during the morning rush hour (0700 hours to 0900 hours) · The Region of York implementing a traffic management plan, satisfactory to the Town · The Region of York implement a communication plan, satisfactory to the Town to advise motorists, business, business association and residents · The works carried out during the above hours be restricted to sewer installation and associated works · Noise levels from the works must meet the Ministry of the Environment Guidelines and Town By-Law 2003-137 (maximum 85 decibels) · Floodlighting as required for the works to be shielded to minimize light pollution · The Town has the right to rescind the exemption if the Region or its contractor fails to comply with the above conditions. · Con Drain provide the Town with contact names and telephone numbers in the event of an emergency or otherwise.
