Tannery Pond Environmental Improvement

Phase Two

COMMUNITY INFORMATION MEETING

An information meeting will be held to share and discuss plans for the next phase of environmental improvements to Tannery Pond.

In 2001, the Town undertook a major revitalization of the Tannery Pond.

The plan included the implementation of storm water quality management ponds, naturalized plantings, a pedestrian pathway and bridge installation as a well as the construction of the large cedar boardwalk you see there today. A site location map of area is below.

Please join Town staff and consultant to discuss the latest plans for environmental improvements to the pond, Robinson Creek as well as some minor works in the head pond north of Bullock Drive.

If you have any questions please call Neal Unsworth at 905-477-7000 Ext. 5757 or nunsworth@markham.ca.

The particulars of the meeting are as follows:

DATE:         Thursday, December 10, 2009

PLACE:       Markham Seniors’ Centre, Auditorium

                   22 Water St.

TIME:          7:00 pm
