Temporary Trees will be Replaced
August 18, 2010
There are a few trees at the north west corner of 16th Avenue and Swan Lake Boulevard. (Mintleaf Gate on the south of 16th) that we've all enjoyed for the past decade or so. These trees were planted by the landowner on a temporary basis.
The ground underneath that corner was contaminated by a past use, and part of the agreement was that it would be cleaned up before any development would take place there. As the plan for development was far in the future at that time, some small trees were planted at the cost of the landowner as an interim beautification project.
The time for the remediation of the land has come, and those temporary trees will be removed, the soil will be cleaned up, and trees will be planted in accordance with the site plan and previous agreements.
I hate to see them go, but it was good of the developer to have planted them for us to enjoy in the interim.
I look forward to the project being completed
