The Town of Markham has been embarking on the development of an Integrated Leisure Master Plan – a 10 year strategy to address parks, recreation, culture and library service and facility needs. It is intended to serve as a guide the Town’s decision making and resource allocations.
In early 2009 a variety of public consultation sessions were held that influenced the development of the Integrated Leisure Master Plan. Many of you participated through the telephone survey, user group survey, Community Search Conference or various public meetings. Thank you for providing feedback. Your feedback is the foundation of our plan.
A draft plan has been completed. We need your feedback again to ensure the plan and key recommendations accurately reflect the community’s needs. To ensure that we have received ample input from the residents of Markham and key stakeholders, we are again utilizing in a variety of engagement strategies including three meetings scheduled for next week:

Sport User Group Meeting |

This meeting is open to all sport user groups. The presentation will be more focused on recommendations around services and infrastructure related to sport. A brief synopsis of the entire plan will also be provided. Feedback to all aspects of the plan is still welcomed. |
Ratepayers Meeting |
Wednesday, March 10 7:00 pm |
Milliken Mills Community Centre 7600 Kennedy Road Meeting Room B |
This meeting is open to all members of a ratepayers group. The presentation will be more focused on neighbourhood service delivery. A brief synopsis of the entire plan will also be provided. Feedback to all aspects of the plan is still welcomed. |
General Public Meeting |
Thursday, March 11 7:30 pm |
Markham Civic Centre Council Chamber |
This meeting will be an overview of the entire plan. It will not be particularly focused on any one area. Individuals who are unable to make either of the first two meetings, or are not a Sport User Group or Ratepayer Member should attend this meeting. |
