The Fight Against Giant Hogweed

Please be advised that the Giant Hogweed treatment operations, approved by Council on March 24, 2010 as part of the Giant Hogweed Control Strategy Report, are scheduled to commence on Friday June 25, 2010.

 

This treatment project will be managed by the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority and will be executed in two phases as follows:

 

• Initial treatment (via Stem Injection)
• Follow-up inspection of all sites and re-application (as required) 2 to 3 weeks after initial treatment

The second phase provides the opportunity to evaluate the efficacy of the initial treatment application, along with the ability to retreat any surviving plants and or plants missed in the initial treatment phase.
