Traffic Signals at Bur Oak and Highway 7

November 29, 2007

The original design is to have traffic signals at Bur Oak and Highway 7.  The permission from the Province of Ontario to build the intersection was delayed, and so I pushed hard, and the developer's group built the road from Church Street to Highway 7.  However, the Province only allowed a stop sign.

The intersection is working well and I look forward to having the traffic signals in place.  The consulting engineers, the Regional engineers and the Town's engineers are working on installing them, with the completion of the south part of the intersection.

I have learned that to predict when a piece of construction is going to be finished is a dangerous thing to do, as there are several jurisdictions involved here.  However, my current information is that construction will start this summer.

Stay tuned.
