The Pace of Grace - The Virtues of a Cultivated Life

Offered by Dr. John S. Niles

How are you, really?

Are you caught up in what seems to be a F.O.G. – of being Fatigued, Overwhelmed, and Guilty?  Are you running on empty? The illness of the day seems to be Chronic Fatigue Syndrome - So much to do so little energy to do it.

Too many of us have moved from being “A” -Type personalities to being “E”-Type Personalities” – doing everything for everybody! How do we reclaim our lives, our time and our energy? How can we sustain a sense of daily grace?

The 6 week Pace of Grace Seminar will seek to offer topic based reflective/interactive discussions to help us live our best, most grace-filled life.

Mondays 7:30 – 8:30

Upper Chapel

St. Andrews United Church

32 Main Street North, Markham

905-294-0351

October 27 – December 1

The Pace of Grace Seminars cover four topics:

1. Pause in Life
2. Pace Yourself
3. Practice the Presence of God
4. Plan a Sustainable Life

Pause in Life: The seminar offers a place and time to pause, reflect and respond with a guided scriptural discussion to help those present move beyond the exhaustive pace which cause many to fall prey to the “Troubled C’s” of Criticism, Control, Contempt and Conflict by offering a space for grace to do its work within our spirits.

Pace Yourself: This seminar will seek to offer insight and information to help people acquire principles to set a “life pace” that sets healthy life affirming boundaries which offer space for grace inform their lives.

Practice the Presence:  is about our profound need for the “Three R’s” - reverence, reflection and restoration.  Within this seminar, these will be developed through reflective reading, prayer, and meditation. Through creating a sacred space for reflection we are able to ground ourselves in grace every day.

Plan a Sustainable Life: Through this seminar insight will be offered that will help allow for the pace of grace to inform how one can organize and prioritize your day, month, and year to balance mind, body and spirit as you open yourself to joy and abundance into your life as you seek in your own way to make a difference in your life and world.
